My Story

My name is Luis Alfau, I was born and raised in New York. I am someone who is driven by passion for what I love, which is anything that has to do with technology and problem solving. When approaching target audiences or problem solving, I leverage my primary traits of compassion and empathy, so that I have a better time understanding the user needs to develop product solutions.

Although I have primarily worked in sales, it has helped me in comfortably communicating with people and digging into what they may need, even if they are unsure about it at first. In college, I took web design courses that helped shape my skills in front-end development that can transfer well into the world of UX to better understand the work that is being done. I first learned about UX design when I got curious on if there was a career path that was similar to web design, but more expressive and involved, so I stumbled across UX/UI design.

UX design has taught me to be more attentive to people and their behavior towards a product. It also allowed me to express my creative side, as well as my abilities in problem-solving and critical thinking. Researching a product and understanding its users are something I learned to enjoy from the UX process. Seeking user satisfaction and product validation is what I try to do now.

Delving deeper into my UX design career, I want to help design existing products to help change it into a friendlier look, improving components and usability, allowing new and old users to pick up on navigating through with ease. Improving accessibility for users with disabilities is another goal of mine when designing products, allowing for more inclusivity. I hope to continue to increase overall user experience, whether it is an existing product or a new one.
